DUSHANBE, September 11, Asia-Plus — Commenting on the report of Kyrgyz border service that a helicopter of Tajik Air Force allegedly violated Kyrgyzstan’s airspace on September 10, representative from the main border troops directorate of the State Committee for National Security said that their directorate has only one helicopter deployed at the Dushanbe airport and over the past several days, it has not flown to the northern Sughd province.

According to Kyrgyz border service, helicopter Mi-8 of Tajik Air Force Monday violated airspace of Kyrgyzstan, flying at the height of 1,500-1,7000 meters from the northern Tajik city of Isfara over the Kyrgyz settlement of Tandik to the Tajik exclave Vorukh in Kyrgyzstan and returning to Tajikistan.

“We even do not have information about this incident,” the Tajik border service official said.

Meanwhile, the Tajik Defense Minister (MoD) has refused from commenting on this report.

However, some Kyrgyz media have said that replying to request of Kyrgyz border service, flying control center of Tajik Air Force officially apologized for the incident and noted that the helicopter had violated Kyrgyzstan’s airspace by mistake.
