On March 29, 2019, US-Tajikistan Business Council jointly with Baker McKenzie organized Panel Discussion on Doing Business in Central Asia with participation of Ambassadors of Central Asian nations, Afghanistan, US Government officials, representatives of business community and think-tanks, according to the Tajik Embassy in Washington.

Tajikistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Farhod Salim participated in the event and made remarks.

In his speech, Ambassador Salim, in particular, emphasized the initiatives and further steps of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on development of business opportunities of the country, economic reforms and the establishment of favorable investment climate in the country. 

The meeting participants reportedly presented commercial and investment opportunities of their countries and provided information about measures taken by their governments in the area of trade and investment.

The US-Tajikistan Business Council was established in 2016 with the aim of promoting more US investment and companies to Tajikistan’s economy and development of trade relations between the two countries and its first meeting took place in Washington, DC on October 7, 2016.
