Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently on his official visit to Russia, yesterday met in Moscow with representatives of Tajik diasporas, Tajik labor migrants and students.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon told them about achievements Tajikistan had reached during independence.  

The head of state noted that the issue of labor migration will be discussed during his talks with Russian officials and agreements on cooperation in the migration sector will be signed, including an agreement on the organized recruitment of labor migrants for working in Russia,  

According to Rahmon, this agreement will be another significant step towards creation of decent conditions for Tajik labor migrants in Russia.

“Besides, issues related to preparation and signing of an agreement on retirement benefits for labor migrant, the possibility of reducing the cost of the work patent for labor migrants and other themes connected with protection of rights and interests of our citizens in Russia, will be discussed” said Emomali Rahmon.
