The Ministry of Finance (MoF) forecasts that the revenue part of Tajikistan’s budget for 2020 will rise 2.5 percent (265 million U.S. dollars) compared to this year, reaching 2.7 billion U.S. dollars.
According to the MoF Secretariat, the revenue part of the budget for 2020 is projected to stand at 26.2 billion somoni, which is 10.5 percent or nearly 2.5 billion somoni more than the revenue part of the budget for this year.
The expenditure part of the country’s budget for 2020 is projected to stand at 26.5 billion somoni, which is 9.5 percent more than the expenditures projected for this year.
Social spending is expected to account for some 43.1 of budget allocations, with 17.2% earmarked for public education alone.
Besides, 15.2 percent is earmarked for social protection, 6.8 percent for public health, and 3.8 percent for culture and sports.
The gross domestic product (GDP) for 2020 is expected to stand at 82.7 billion somoni and the budget deficit I projected to stand at 0.5 percent.
Inflation is expected to stand next year at 6.8 percent and the exchange rate of the national currency, the somoni, against the dollar will be 10:1.
Recall, the revenues of the country’ national budget for this year are projected to stand at 23.774 billion somoni and its expenditures are projected to be 24.165 billion somoni.
