Developers of Tajikistan’s national budget for 2020 assure that Tajikistan can receive more than 4.5 billion somoni (equivalent to nearly 465 million U.S. dollars) in loans and grants next year, which is nearly 274 million somoni (equivalent to nearly 29 million U.S. dollars) this year, an official source in one of ministers of economic cluster told Asia-Plus in an interview.  

According to him, Tajikistan is expected to receive more than 5.4 billion somoni (equivalent to nearly 558 million U.S. dollars) in loans and grants in 2021 and more than 6.1 billion somoni (equivalent to nearly 630 million U.S. dollars) in loans and grants in 2022.  

This year’s national budget has projected to receive nearly 4.3 billion somoni (equivalent to nearly 444 million U.S. dollars) in loans and grants.  

According to government forecasts, the country’s external debt will amount to 3.108 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, 3.327 billion U.S. dollars in 2020 and 3.441 billion U.S. dollars in 2021.
