Bread prices reportedly rise 35 percent in Uzbekistan

Date:

Bread prices have risen in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent.  CA NEWS says the price for a loaf of bread rose from 1,100 sum (equivalent to US$0.11) to 1,350-1500 sum (equivalent to US$0.14 – US$0.16) on October 15.

Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers reportedly adopted a regulation on measures to introduce market mechanisms in the supply chain of grain, flour and bread on October 14.

This document, in particular, provides for liberalizing grain and flour prices.

For the last time, bead prices were raised in Uzbekistan in September 2018 from 600-650 sum (equivalent to US$0.06) to 1,100 sum.
