123 dental offices, 81 hairdressing shops and 157 beauty salons have been temporarily closed in Tajikistan for violating safe hygiene practices, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MoHSP)

“Over the first nine months of this year, specialists of the State Health Care Supervision Service have issued administrative fines to 97 dental offices, 127 hairdressing shops and 173 beauty salons, which have failed to comply with safe hygiene practices,” an official source at a MoHSP told Asia-Plus in an interview.   

According to him, a total amount of fines has amounted to 111,295 somoni.   

Besides, 1,031 items of expired drugs and 110,814 expired medical and other goods have reportedly been withdrawn from shelves during inspections of pharmaceutical institutions.  

The pharmaceutical institutions, in which expired drugs and medical goods were revealed, have been fined a total of 996,630 somoni, the source said.
