People infected with a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been identified in all regions of Uzbekistan, according to Fergana news agency.

Uzbekistan’s chief sanitary inspector Nourmat Otabekov says the COVID-infected people are undergoing medical treatment in Tashkent and eight other infectious diseases clinics in the regions. 

Meanwhile RIA Novosti, citing Uzbekistan’s health Ministry, says 32 new cases of coronavirus were reported on April 7, bringing a total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 504.  30 patients have reportedly recovered.  Two coronavirus-linked deaths have been reported in Uzbekistan as of March 28, 2020.

About 100,000 people have been quarantined in Uzbekistan.

Uzbek authorities introduced a mandatory self-isolation regime in Tashkent.  All persons over the age of 65 are forbidden to leave their homes.   

Meanwhile, Azotyk Radio says that according to data from the Health Ministry of Kazakhstan, 704 cases of coronavirus have been registered in the country as of April 8, while 51 patients have recovered.  Six coronavirus-linked deaths have been reported in Kazakhstan as of April 8, 2020.

Citing Kyrgyz Health Minister Sabirzhan Abdikarimov, Kaktus Media reports that 12 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Kyrgyzstan on April 7, bringing a total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 228.

Meanwhile AKIPress says 270 cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported in Kyrgyzstan as of April 8, while 35 patients have recovered.  Four coronavirus-linked deaths have been reported in Kyrgyzstan as of April 8.       

Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have not reported any confirmed infections yet.
