The Khujand Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision warns of the possibility of the second wave of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province. 

A statement released by the Khujand Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision, in particular, notes that new cases of COVID-19, especially, especially those without any symptoms, evoke serious concern.  

The Khujand Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision calls on people to strictly observe sanitary norms, wear face masks and practice social distancing.  

To-date, 8,346 cases of COVID-19 and 67 coronavirus-linked deaths have been reported in the country.  7,142 COVID-19 patients have reportedly recovered as of the evening of August 24, 2020. 

Besides, more than 1,000 people in Tajikistan have reportedly been treating COVID-19 at home under supervision of family doctors.
