Deputy Prosecutor of Khatlon Region Millopar Bandishozoda dies

In Tajikistan, 61-year-old deputy prosecutor of Khatlon region, ex-deputy head of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the republic Millopar Bandishozoda, has died.

A source in the regional prosecutor's office said the general had pneumonia and symptoms of coronavirus, with which he was hospitalized.

Millopar Bandishozoda was born in 1959 in Shohdar (GBAO). He graduated from the Tajik National University and Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in jurisprudence.

In 1987-1991, he worked as a senior investigator in the prosecutor's office of the Shokhmansur district of Dushanbe, 1991-1994 – a senior investigator for especially important cases of the General Prosecutor's Office of the country, 1994-1998 – a senior investigator for especially important cases of the regional prosecutor's office of Sughd.

In 1998-2002 he held the post of deputy prosecutor of the city of Kanibadam, in 2002-2007 he was the prosecutor of this city. In 2007-2009, he was the head of the Anti-Corruption Department of the Sughd Region, and in 2009-2011 – the Deputy Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Department in Khatlon. In 2011-2015, he was the first deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Agency.

In 2004 he was awarded the Medal of "Merit".
