Charter flights operated from New Delhi to Dushanbe on October 12 reportedly brought a group of Indian students studying at Tajik National Medical University.

An official with the Tajik National Medical University says the Standing Committee on COVID-19 Response has given the go-ahead for the return of Indian students.

“In all, 350 Indian students have returned to Tajikistan so far, and all of the have passed the coronavirus test,” said the official.  “The same number of Indian students will return to the country within the next few days.”

According to him, it is not yet clear when the students from Central Asia’s countries, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Middle East studying at Tajik National Medical University will return to Dushanbe.

Foreign students studying at Tajik universities left Dushanbe for their countries due to the coronavirus pandemic in early April this year.
