DUSHANBE, April 20, Asia-Plus — New India’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Omar Singh today presented credentials to President Emomali Rahmon.  

After a meeting with Tajik president, Indian diplomat told journalists that they had discussed a broad range of issues related to bilateral cooperation between the two countries.  According to him, they spoke for further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and India in different branches of economy, including processing of aluminum, textile production, processing of farm produce.  

“I think India could also participate in the implementation of project for exporting electrical power from Tajikistan to South Asia’s countries,” Omar Singh.  

He also underlined the necessity of development of work of the Tajik-Indian commission for economic cooperation.  

Indian Ambassador said that they had also discussed issues related to regional security, including stabilization of situation in Afghanistan, and noted that Tajikistan plays an important role in providing regional security.   

Asked about the possibility of opening of offices of Indian media in Dushanbe, Omar Singh said that the majority of media in his country are private and he will take efforts in order that any of them would be represented in Tajikistan.
