Presidential Reserve Fund will be replenished with 20 million somonis next year

Date:

The state budget for 20201 projects the volume of the residential Reserve Fund to stand at 404 million somonis (equivalent to more than 38 million U.S. dollars), which is 20 million somonis or 5.2 percent more than the funding of this Fund this year.

Next year, financing of the Presidential Reserve Fund will amount to 1.5 percent of the budget expenditures.

The Presidential Reserve Fund finances charitable activities and some other events.

Besides, the state budget for 2021 earmarks more than 100 million somonis for the Government's Contingency Fund.

Meanwhile, the state budget will earmark 0.2 percent for the Fund of Leader of the Nation.

Recall, Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament in April 2018 endorsed a bill on amendments to the country’s law on state finances.  The amendments, in particular, provide for setting up the Fund of Leader of the Nation.  The procedure of using the Fund resource will be determined by Leader of the National himself and financing of the Fund will begin after the incumbent president resigns.  The Fund of Leader of the Nation will finance various charitable activities.

The Majlisi Namoyandagon endorsed the bill designating Emomali Rahmon the “Leader of the Nation” on December 9, 2015.

The Majlisi Namoyandagon approved the state budget for 2021 on November 18.  Revenues are projected to stand at 27.6 billion somonis and expenditures at 28.1 billion somonis.  Tax receipts are expected to stand at 18.8 billion somonis, which is more than 68 percent of the overall volume of the revenues.
