President Emomali Rahmon yesterday held the last government session of the year to the review the results of the passing year’s work and the plan of work for the first half-year of 2021.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon ordered heads of ministries and agencies to take adequate measures to ensure the timely implementation of the plan and holding the forthcoming national and international events at a high level.  

The Minister of Education and Science Muhammadyusuf Imomzoda reported on the progress of implementation of the national program of development of educational facilities in Khatlon province in 2014-2020.  

The minister, in particular, noted that four education department buildings and 19 educational facilities to accommodate a total of 20,620 pupils had been built in the area of the reporting period, which is only 22.4 percent of the program. 

According to him, 214.306 million somonis have been spent for implementation of the program.  

Rahmon ordered the government, the ministry of education and science and local authorities of Khatlon province to take specific measures to ensure the implementation of the program.  

He also drew attention of relevant officials to the shortage of teaching staff in Khatlon province.  

Emomali Rahmon also gave specific instruction to heads of relevant bodies regarding preparations for celebration of Navrouz festival on March 21, 2021 and the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence on September 9, 2021.

The head of state ordered relevant ministries and agencies to take measures to ensure the regular work of the country's economy during winter period and provide the population, economic, social and cultural facilities with electricity and heat.
