DUSHANBE, January 30, Asia-Plus — Capital mayor has proposed to name the central park in Dushanbe after founder of Tajik-Persian literature Abduabdullo Rudaki.

Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev presided over a meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office on January 29.  

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that Ubaidulloyev suggested at a the meeting that the Dushanbe central park should be named after Abduabdullo Rudaki.  According the spokesman, a commission for naming and renaming streets, parks, educational facilities, enterprises and organizations in Dushanbe made a decision to submit this issue for consideration to the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis).
