The International Olympiad in Informatics, dubbed ISI Junior 2022, will take place in Dushanbe from July 1-7 this year. 

Asomiddin Bobozoda, the head of the Department 1fro Pres-School and Secondary General Education at the Dushanbe education Directorate, says 27 teams, a total of 158 school students and 28 trainers from 13 countries of the world, have been invited to participate in the Olympiad.

According to him, the Olympiad is being held for the purpose of implementing events related to the 20th anniversary of the study and development of natural and exact sciences and it is aimed at developing young talents with technological thinking and involving school students in studying exact sciences and math.

“Schools students from Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan will arrive in Dushanbe,” said Bobozoda.  “Besides, school students from Azerbaijan, Mongolia, India, China, Syria, Sri Lanka and Cuba will participate in the Olympiad via video link.” 

Last year, similar Olympiad was held in Russia from July 1-10, and Tajik school students, who participated in the Olympiad via video link, took the 2nd and the 3rd placed, Bobozoda added.
