The forum of business circles of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea (South Korea) will be held on September 5 in Dushanbe, the South Korean diplomatic representation in the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
It is expected that more than 20 Korean companies that operate in Kazakhstani and Russian cities will attend the event.
«The purpose of this meeting is to create conditions for Korean companies interested in entering the market of Tajikistan, and to establish relations among themselves, as well as to create a support network between the Government of Tajikistan and companies», – the message of the South Korean diplomatic mission says.
Investments from South Korea in the economy of Tajikistan, judging by the annual reports of the Tajik investment department, are practically non-existent.
Tajikistan during its state independence has repeatedly tried to attract South Korean investments, but so far – unsuccessfully.
At the end of August 2020, the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan and the KOSHUMA (Korean Smart Technology Association) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Members of this Association are over 180 reputable Korean companies operating in various industries.
