Tajik athletes won 8 medals – 3 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze – at the open athletics championship of Central Asia, which was held on September 23-25 in Samarkand. This was reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.

Gold medals were won by Favoris Muzrapov in the 200m run (21.75 seconds), Ildar Akhmadiyev in the long jump with a result of 7.73 meters, and the Tajik men's team in the 4x100m relay with a result of 41.50 seconds.

Silver medals were won in the 200 meters by Ildar Akhmadiyev with a score of 21.97 seconds.

Bronze medals were won by Alexander Pronzhenko (200m run, 22.17 seconds), Zukhurshohi Najmiddin (3000m hurdles run, 9:44.32) and the Tajikistan men's team in the 4x400m relay (3:20.42).

The IV Open Championship of Central Asia in Athletics was held on September 24-25 in Samarkand. More than 300 athletes from 9 countries took part in the competition.
