Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe: The shortage of public transport in the capital is not critical

Date:

Currently, there is no significant shortage of public transport in the capital, Firdavs Saidzoda, Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe, said today, August 11.

"In summer, 300 buses, 64 trolleybuses, more than 1100 minibuses and about 2000 taxis are on the city's roads every day. And this volume meets the needs of citizens," Saidzoda said.

Special attention was paid to route No. 16, which connects the mahallas of Chorteppa and Chanoro. Passengers always complain about the lack of transport on this line, and say that they have to wait for hours for a minibus.

"The problem is not of a critical nature. During the summer holidays there is a slight decrease in the number of minibuses on this route and this is due to a decrease in passenger traffic, namely students. Now 24 minibuses are running on this line, by September it is planned to increase them to 34," Firdavs Saidzoda said.
