” was held in


Dushanbe


on July 28.  

The seminar participants included senior representatives from


Tajikistan


’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), Federation of Sports Medicine, as well as representatives from the


Institute

of

Physical Training


, and various sports federations, and representative from


Iran


’s National Red Crescent Committee.  

Telling the seminar, the Tajik NOC head Bahrullo Rajabaliyev noted that at present


Tajikistan


was experiencing an acute shortage of skilled sports medical workers for organization of various sports activities.  He noted that each sports federation in the republic should have its sports medical personnel for providing medical aid to athletes during the competitions as well as looking after sportsmen during training process.  

The seminar participants considered issues of formation of the sports medicine, best opportunities of treating sports injures, as well as sports medicine within the framework of the Special Olympics Program in
