President Emomali Rahmon, who is also the Head of the Government of Tajikistan, on February 2 introduced staff changes to the Interior Ministry.
By government’s regulation Ghairatsho Muborakshozoda, who had previously served as Deputy Head of the Interior Ministry’s Office in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), was appointed Deputy Minister of Interior, replacing Saidnakhsh Rahmonzoda.
Recall, Saidnakhsh Rahmonzoda was relieved of his post of Deputy Interior Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan on January 27.
Besides, by government’s regulation Faizali Sharifzoda was relieved of his post of Head of the Interior Ministry Academy in connection with transfer to another job.
By another government’s regulation Poulod Nasouriyon was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Academy.
On February 2, President Emomali Rahmon replaced heads of 25 police directorates and departments with young staff.
Thus, the head of the Interior Ministry’s Office in GBAO and heads of police departments in GBAO’s Shugnan and Rushan districts, the head of the Interior Ministry’s Office in Kulob region of Khatlon province and heads of police departments in the cities of Kulob and Bokhtar and in the districts of Kushoniyon, Dousti, Nosir-Khusrav and Yovon in Khatlon province and some other senior police officials were replaced with young talented personnel.
Recall, speaking at a meeting of the Security Council of Tajikistan that took place on January 19, President Emomali Rahmon noted serious shortcomings in activities of law enforcement, security and power-wielding structures.
Rahmon, in particular, said that heads of some regional, district and city law enforcement agencies of Khatlon province show irresponsibility in their work.
The head of state pointed out that low professional level, failure to perform official duties, corruption, increase in the number of crimes of terrorist and extremist nature, drug trafficking including with the participation of officers of law enforcement agencies and power-wielding structures, admission of random and unprofessional people into the ranks of law enforcement agencies, and incorrect personnel policy are the main problems in activities law enforcement, security and power-wielding structures.
Due to the large number of offenses and failure to comply with the requirements of laws and military regulations, Emomali Rahmon ordered to dismiss a number of senior prosecutors and law enforcement officials in Khatlon province, including the head of the Interior Ministry’s Office in Khatlon province and his deputies, Khatlon chief prosecutor and his deputies.
In order to eliminate all hazing cases, the president ordered to take serious measures and submit a written report within ten days.
