28,348 facilities will be built in the country by the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, which will be celebrated on September 9, 2026, the head of the Committee for Architecture and Construction under the Government of Tajikistan, Nizom Mirzozoda, told reporters in Dushanbe on February 5.  

According to him, 10,071 facilities have been constructed to-date, 7,946 facilities are under construction and construction of 10,367 other facilities has not yet been commenced.

Mrizozoda said that 19.859 billion somonis worth of construction and installation work was carried out in the country last year, which is 22.5 percent more than in 2022.

He further noted that that an overall space of 1.737 million square meters in residential buildings were made available in Tajikistan during 2023, which 2.1 percent more than in 2022.   

Residential buildings in the country were constructed mainly by entities of the non-governmental sector. 

Asked about housing prices in the country, Mr. Mirzozoda noted than an average price for one square meter of any building is 743.00 US dollars in Dushanbe and 440.00 US dollars in other regions of the country.

An average price for one square meter in a residential building in Tajikistan is 570.00 US dollars.    

It was noted that last year, an average monthly wage in the country’s construction sector was 2,014.86 somonis, which is 10.3 percent higher than in 2022.
