, July 17, Asia-Plus – A conference formally titled “From Moratorium to Abolition of Death Penalty” opened in
Dushanbe
today morning.
According to information the Tajik NGO Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law, the conference was stage by
Tajikistan
’s Government in cooperation with International Helsinki Federation.
The conference is considering a project on this issue in
Central Asia
and
Tajikistan
, as well as discussing papers on introduction of death penalty moratorium, evolution of norms of
Tajikistan
’s Criminal Code, etc.
The discussion is supposed to result in adoption of a final document.
