Russia appreciates Tajikistan’s assistance in investigating the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack, top Russian diplomat Sergei Lavrov stated in his welcoming speech   at the presentation of the Society of Friendship with Tajikistan in Moscow on April 4, Izvestiya reports

The recent monstrous terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, as planned by its organizers, was supposed to sow discord in Russian society, cause a heightened sense of mistrust between peoples.  However, the misfortune only united people of different nationalities,” Russian foreign minister was cited as saying.

“We are grateful to the leadership of Tajikistan for their words of support and sympathy in this difficult moment.  We appreciate prompt assistance in investigating the circumstances of the tragedy,” Lavrov said, according to the Russian MFA’s official website.

The top Russian diplomat reportedly expressed confidence that the only response to what happened should be further expansion of cooperation in “uncompromising struggle against terrorism and its foreign sponsors.”

“Today, when “the collective West” is trying to destroy the centuries-old bonds that unite us, it is important to further strengthen friendship, trust and mutual understanding between our peoples.   I am confident that the Society of Friendship with Tajikistan will also make a useful contribution to this noble work,” Russian foreign minister noted.
