DUSHANBE, March 17, 2009, Asia-Plus — The work on reviewing the government’s anticrisis plan has been completed and it will be submitted for consideration to the government again already this week, Anvar Latipov, Aide to Economic Development and Trade Minister, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
“The plan of measures to minimize effects of the financial crisis will be discussed at an enlarged session of the government and if approved, it will be sent for signing to the president,” the aide said, expressing hope that the plan will be ready for implementation already by the end of this month.
As it had been reported earlier, Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov signed the plan of anticrisis measures on December 31, 2008. However, the enlarged session of the government held in mid-January returned it as requiring improvement. The interagency commission for mitigation of the financial crisis effects has reviewed the document taking into consideration proposals of relevant ministries and organizations.
The plan of anticrisis activities consists of five components: tax-budgetary policy; state support for real sector of economy; providing population with jobs; ensuring food security; and general events on carrying out reforms, the aide said, adding that it is still premature to speak about any specific amount of funds needed for implementation of the anticrisis plan.
