In his address to the parliament, Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon announced on December 16 that 1.4 million jobs will be created in the country over the next five years. This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the national economy and improving the living conditions of citizens.

Rahmon pointed out that Tajikistan has significant human resources. Over the past decade, the working-age population has grown by an average of 2% annually, totaling an increase of approximately 880,000 people. In response, more than 200,000 new jobs are created annually across various sectors of the economy. Additionally, over 150,000 graduates of vocational institutions enter the job market each year.

To effectively address employment issues, the president emphasized the need for active involvement from the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment, as well as other government bodies. He stressed the importance of creating jobs for the working-age population, safeguarding workers' rights, maintaining accurate workforce data, and improving social protection for citizens.

Special attention will be given to supporting small businesses and crafts, which can provide additional employment opportunities. Plans also include improving working conditions and ensuring social security for workers.

Furthermore, Rahmon highlighted that local authorities, ministries, and agencies must focus on creating jobs for women, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. A key priority is assisting in the employment of graduates and generating jobs in rural areas.

The president concluded by emphasizing that the successful implementation of the job creation plans in the coming years will require close cooperation among all relevant stakeholders.
