, January 19, Asia-Plus — 44 activists of the outlawed religious extremist “Hizb ut-Tahrir” organization were detained in


Tajikistan


last year, Tajik interior minister told journalists on January 19. 

A large number of subversive literature, including various books, leaflets, and brochures, and computers were confiscated from them, according to him.

In 2004, Tajik police revealed and detained persons involved in commitment of “crimes of terrorist nature” as well as 38 members of illegal armed groupings, the minister said.  According to him, thee were several cases when members of
