Dubai-based company ready to provide two aircraft to Tajik air carrier and construct a series of small power plants in Tajikistan

, March 7, Asia-Plus – On Monday March 6, visiting representatives from the Dubai-based (


United Arab Emirates


– UAE) company “Trading Sister” met with top managers of Tajik State Air Company “Tojikiston”.

Their talks focused on opening new air routes and renewing fleet of Tajik national airlines, construction of a new runway and reconstruction of international and domestic terminals, according to information from


Tajikistan


’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

The Tajik CCI source has told Asia-Plus that a delegation of


Dubai


entrepreneurs led by Mr. Ali Muhammadi, director general of the “Trading Sisiter” Investment Company, and Mr. Said Ali Mufidi, member of the Company’s Board of Directors, arrived in


Dushanbe


on March 2 for a fact-finding visit that lasted till March 6.

During the meeting with senior representatives from the Tajik State Air Company “Tojikiston” Mr. Muhammadi noted that their company was ready to loan


Tajikistan


’s national air carrier to lease two aircraft, “Boeing-757” and “Boeing-727 (WIP)” for 10 years.

During their stay in


Dushanbe


representatives from the Dubai-based investment company also held talks with senior representatives from other Tajik ministries and organizations. 

Yesterday, they also met with Tajik Industries Minister Zayd Saidov.  In the course of the talks the UAE entrepreneurs expressed intention to launch a joint venture in


Tajikistan


on producing consumer goods.  Participants at the meeting also considered the possibility of drumming up investments in processing of precious and semiprecious stones, building materials, launch of joint ventures for cotton processing, etc.  

The UAE entrepreneurs also met with Tajik Energy Minister Jurabek Nurmahmadov.  In the course of the talks the sides discussed issues related to the construction of hydropower plants on the Vakhsh and Panj rivers in


Tajikistan


.  During the meeting it was noted that the “Trading Sister” company was ready to invest in these projects.  

The meeting with Tajik Transport Minister Abdurrahim Ashurov focused on issues of investing in the construction of roads and tunnels in


Tajikistan


.  

The talks with Tajik Communications Minister said Zuvaydov considered cooperation in supplying cooper cable, optic-fiber lines, solar batteries and diesel generators to


Tajikistan


.  

The “Trading Sister” company also expressed readiness to invest in enhancement of education, health and cultural sectors and development of tourism in


Tajikistan


.  The company also agreed to expand humanitarian cooperation with


Tajikistan


.  

To speed up solution of these issues the sides have agreed to set up working groups.  

The “Trading Sister” is one of the largest investment companies in the


United Arab Emirates


with its commercial bank in


Dubai


and a series of its enterprises in the Central Asian countries.
