DUSHANBE, March 29, Asia-Plus — A meeting aiming to consider issues related to the HIV/AIDS situation in the country and problems of high-risk groups is being held in Dushanbe on march 29.   

Azamjon Mirzoyev, head of the Republican AIDS Center, has told Asia-Plus that the main objective of the meeting is in drawing attention of civil society in Tajikistan to the problems of combating the disease as well as working out a joint plan of mobilization of the civil society for targeting more vulnerable groups with a package of services to prevent spread of HIV/AIDS.  

The meeting participants include representatives from the health ministry, republican clinical hospitals and district and city AIDS center 

The meeting is staged by the National Coordinating Committee for Combating HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in cooperation with the Capacity Project.  

506 HIV-infected have to date been registered in Tajikistan.
