on April 1, according to information from the Defense Ministry (MoD). 

Today, Republican Military Registration and Enlistment Office held a meeting to discuss the results of the autumn conscription campaign and consider the upcoming spring conscription campaign.

and the nearby districts, according to the source. 

The MoD source says the 2005 autumn conscription campaign’s target was fulfilled.  At the same time, the source refrained from giving details of the campaign and numbers of conscripts.

’s Military Prosecutor’s Office will consider the generalized results of the 2005 autumn conscription and shortcomings and problems revealed during the autumn conscription campaign.  

In the meantime, President Emomali Rahmonov yesterday signed a decree on drafting young Tajiks into the country’s Armed Forces from April through May 2006.  The drafting embraces able-bodied male citizens in the age bracket of 18 years old to 27 old, who are not assigned to the Armed Force reserve.  The same decree orders retirement from active duty of soldiers and sergeants whose service under conscription is over.
