Labor migrants remit US$575 mln to banks in Sughd so far this year

KHUJAND, November 10, 2010, Asia-Plus  — In January-October this year, labor migrants have remitted 575 million U.S. dollars to branches of commercial banks in Sughd province, according to the branch of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) in Khujand.

73.6 million U.S. dollars were remitted to local banks last month alone, which is 14.8 million U.S. dollars more than in October 2009, the source said.
