DUSHANBE, November 10, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Iranian company, Giyah International, plans to build a pesticide-producing plant in Qubodiyon district, Khatlon province, the deputy director of the Grow International company, Mohammad Said Rustamzade, told Asia-Plus Tuesday afternoon.

According to him, the plant will produce herbicides, fertilizers and fungicides.  “The company will deliver raw materials for production of fertilizers and pesticides,” Rustamzade said.

Nearly 150 tajik-Iranian joint ventures now operate in the country.

According to the Agency for Statistics at the President of Tajikistan, trade between Tajikistan and Iran in January-August 2010 has valued at US$112.233 million, which is 48.9 percent more than in the same period last year.  This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Iran estimated at more than US$30.9 million and Tajikistan’s imports from Iran worth US$81.3 million.
