DUSHANBE, November 10, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajik national air carrier, Tajik Air, is granted a 60-percent discount for airport, ground and air navigation services at the airports in Dushanbe, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa, according to the Tajik Air press service.

The president signed government’s decree on regulation of rates of fees for airport, ground and air navigation services for Tajik Air on October 30 and it took effect on November 1.

The antimonopoly agency, international airports in Dushanbe, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa as well as the air navigation service, Tajikaeronavigatsiya, are to make appropriate changes to the fee and duty rates.

The discount will allow Tajik Air to renew its fleet with Western type modern economically effective aircraft, expand the geography of flights and improve quality of on-board services, the source said.

According to the source, Tajik Air is currently considering organizational issues related to leasing Boeing 737-500 and two Chinese-made medium range aircraft MA-60 that will replace old Soviet-made An-24s, An-26s and Yak-40s.
