DUSHANBE, November 2, 2010, Asia-Plus  — All 24 pilots from Somon Air have taken the next refresher course in Turkey, according to the Somon Air press service.

Besides, two pilots of the company have taken training course to operate Boeing 737-800 and they are currently operating flights as copilots.

Somon Air is the first Tajik private air carrier based in Dushanbe.  The air carrier now operates to the following destinations: China (Urumqi); Germany (Frankfurt am Main); Kazakhstan (Almaty); Russia (Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Orenburg, St Petersburg, Sochi, and Yekaterinburg); Tajikistan (Dushanbe, Khujand); Turkey (Istanbul); and United Arab Emirates (Dubai).  As part of the airline”s current expansion, it plans to serve destinations in Saudi Arabia in the future.
