DUSHANBE, May 19, 2010, Asia-Plus — Saudi Arabia offers to establish the human rights organization of Muslim states.
Dr. Nizar Bin Obaid Madani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, noted yesterday after a meeting with President Emomali Rahmon that the necessity for establishment of such a human rights organization for the OCI member nations had ripened long ago. “We hope the headquarters of this organization will be in Tajikistan,” he said.
Besides, he noted that he and President Emomali Rahmon had discussed issues related to further expansion of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan in different fields.
Yesterday, President Rahmon also received the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Emar Mahmadyarov and the Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmad Abdullah Al-Mahmud.
According to the Azeri foreign minister, his talks with Tajik leader focused on bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in the sphere of culture and regional problems arising in Caucasus and Central Asia.
The Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmad Abdullah Al-Mahmud told reporters that he and President Rahmon had discussed bilateral economic cooperation between Qatar and Tajikistan and some other issues related to expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
