DUSHANBE, May 18, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi met with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, in Dushanbe yesterday.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the UAE in different fields.

The Tajik foreign minister welcomed the present level of relations between the countries and stressed that the sides were taking efforts to ensure further development of them.

Zarifi also positively assessed the activity of Tajikistan’s General Consulate in Dubai and noted that Tajikistan planed to open its embassy in the UAE in the near future.
