KHUJAND, April 16, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Public associations in Sughd province offer to establish an order for significant contributions to Roghun’s construction.

Karim Abdulov, chairman of the Donish (Knowledge) Society, stated this at a meeting f the public association, The Social Partnership Club, in Khujand.

The meeting, held with support from the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, brought together representatives of the government and civil society to discuss their partnership in addressing energy independence.

The meeting participants also proposed to stop forced participation in the Roghun fundraising campaign.

“Henceforth, nobody will come round and offer to buy shares in Roghun,” said the first deputy Sughd governor, Vahhob Nabiyev, “We will work only with enterprises and organizations in this direction,”

Speaking at the meeting, Subhon Koshonov, Senior Adviser to the President for Social Issues and Public Relations, noted that buying shares in Roghun was a voluntary act and those shares would bring profit to their holders in the future.
