KHUJAND, February 27, 2010, Asia-Plus — Chinese national was killed on February 25 as an avalanche hit the Shahriston pass in the Sughd province, according to the Sughd police directorate.

“The 57-year-old Lu Daytun (phonetically spelled) worked for Chinese company that is digging a tunnel under the Shahriston pass,” said the source, “He was repairing the truck KAMAZ at the southern portal of the tunnel when the avalanche hit the area, burying him and the truck.”
