DUSHANBE, January 22, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Beginning on February 1, electricity rationing will be eased in some regions, Minister of Energy of Industries Gul Sherali announced at a news conference today.

The minister did not specify in which regions electricity rationing will be eased.

According to him, districts of the Sughd province now have electricity nine hours per day while eight hours of electricity are now available in districts in the Khatlon province and districts subordinate to the center.

We will recall that electricity has been rationed in some regions of the country since November 2009.  In the meantime, Dushanbe and provincial administrative centers are provided with electricity without limitations.
