Two underage citizens of Tajikistan, who were on the territory of Russia without the supervision of legal representatives, were repatriated to their homeland, the Tajik Embassy in Moscow reports.

On April 29, with the assistance of the Embassy Consular Section, the children were sent to Tajikistan.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Tajik Interior Ministry Department for the Prevention of Offenses among Minors and Youth, in accordance with the Agreement on cooperation of the CIS member states on the issues of returning minors to the countries of their permanent residenceu0022, – the statement said.

The reasons why the Tajik children were left without guardianship in the Russian Federation are not specified.

As a rule, the main reasons why minor citizens of Tajikistan end up unsupervised in Russia and other foreign countries are most often leaving children in maternity hospitals after birth; parents being under investigation; problems with documents or death of parents.

The Embassy of Tajikistan in Moscow annually organizes events for the return of Tajik children to their homeland.
