Rahmon orders to complete nationwide switch to CFLs until December 1, 2009

DUSHANBE, November 17, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday November 17, President Emomali Rahmon had telephone conversations with administrators of Turusozda, Vahdat, Roudaki and Shahrinav districts, according to presidential press service.

The district administrators reported on the process of fulfillment of this year’s national budget, measures take to ensure switch to energy-saving light bulbs, also known as compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), as well as the process of the cotton-harvesting campaign and autumn sowing.

Following Uzbekistan’s withdrawal from the unified Central Asian power grid, President Rahmon ordered to complete the nationwide shift to the energy-saving light bulbs until December 1 this year, the press service said.

The head of state also charged the district administrators to take adequate measures to provide the population as well as educational and medical facilities with fuels, including coals and liquefied gas.
