DUSHANBE, September 8, 2009, Asia-Plus  – A five-day training seminar for Tajik law enforcement officers on modern investigation and search methods began at the head office of Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe on September 7, according to the DCA press service.

24 officers from the counternarcotics agency, the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) are participating in the seminar that is conducted by the BKA High Commissar Frank Hoppenhayt (phonetically spelled).

The seminar participants are being instructed in carrying out various technical and operational events to fight drug trafficking, the press service said.

The seminar that aims to enhance professionalism of Tajik law enforcement officers will conclude on September 11, 2009.

The Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (Bundeskriminalamt or BKA) is the national investigative police agency of Germany and falls directly under the Federal Ministry of the Interior.  Its responsibilities are the coordination of law enforcement in cooperation with criminal investigation bureaus of the individual states of Germany and to conduct investigations in serious crimes, especially when other countries are involved.
