DUSHANBE, January 30, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Although the situation connected with implementation of this year’s budget is difficult, the government is taking efforts to ensure implementation of the budget, Economic Development and Trade Minister Ghulomjon Bobozoda told reporters in Dushanbe on January 29.

Taking into the consideration the ongoing global financial crisis, the government worked out a plan of actions and set up a working group for implementation of this plan, the minister said.

The plan of actions was singed by Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, who heads the interdepartmental commission for overcoming effects of the global financial crisis, on December 31, 2008,” Bobozoda said, noting that the document has five components, including tax-financial policy.

“Today, we submitted the document for consideration to representatives of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) again and came to a conclusion that it requires improvement,” the minister said.

He expressed confidence that the 2009 budget items concerning monthly wage rates and social protection of the population would not be reviewed.  “We are able to provide the expenditure part of the budget without making any changes,” the minister said.
