DUSHANBE, May 5, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Presentation of the first private secular-religious educational facility, Abu Hanifa, is being held in Dushanbe today, the head of the Tajik Secular-Islamic Dialogue project Faridoun Hodizoda said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to Hodizoda, it is the first educational facility in the country, in which academic course is based on synthesis of secular and religious subjects.

“Registered with the Ministry of Justice last month, this educational facility aims to test modern methods of education, fostering the spirit of patriotism, respect for state, law and religion among youth as well as inducing immunity against the radical Islamic propagation,” said he, “The school will use the latest methods to teach religious subjects in accordance with Hanafi Fiqh.”

Students at this educational facility will study the following subjects: Koran; Hanafi Fiqh; muomilot (relationship); Islamic doctrines; history of compilation of Koran; rhetoric; as well as secular subject such as Tajik language and literature; Arab and English languages, history of the Tajik people; psychology; information technology; basics of theory of state and law; ecology; ethnography, primary medical training, and housekeeping, Hodizoda noted.
