DUSHANBE, January 25, 2011, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon today sent a telegram of condolences to his Russian counterpart, President Dmitry Medvedev, over tragedy that occurred at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport yesterday afternoon, according to the presidential press service.
In his message, President Rahmon expressed strong condemnation of the terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport, calling it monstrous crime.
This incident demonstrates once again the necessity of interaction to efficiently counter this global evil and eliminate the breeding ground for spread of terrorism, Rahmon said.
He also asked to convey his deep condolences to relatives and friends of those who were killed in that terrorist act.
According to the latest data, yesterday’s explosion at the Domodedovo airport killed at least 35 and wounded some 100. According to the Tajik MFA, 12 Tajik nationals are among those who were injured in the explosion.
