KULOB, July 1, 2011, Asia-Plus — Over the first five months of this year, an average monthly wage in the city and the district of Kulob has been estimated at little more than 337 somoni, which is 53 somoni more than in the same period last year, Mahsiddin Musoyev, head of the Kulob department for statistics, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, the lowest average monthly wage has been reported in the agrarian sector and forestry – some US$20.00.

“In the education, health, communications and pubic management sectors, the average monthly wage is equal to US$52.00,” Musoyev said, noting that the average monthly wage exceeding US$100.00 has been reported only in financial and insurance institutions as well as at water economy and energy enterprises.
