DUSHANBE, July 13, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan has offered Belarus to consider the issue of recruitment of labor migrants from Tajikistan for working in its construction and agrarian sectors.

According to the Belarusian news agency, BelTA, this initiative was discussed in Minsk on Tuesday at a meeting of Belarusian Deputy Minister of Interiors, Yevgeny Poluden, with visiting Tajikistan’s Migration Service chief Safiallo Devonayev.

BelTA reports the Belarusian side has worked out a draft government-to-government agreement between Belarus and Tajikistan on labor activities of citizens of both countries that will be sent to Tajikistan for expert examination and coordination.

In the course of the talks, Poluden and Devonayev reportedly noted that lack of legal foundation of manpower exchange cooperation hampers expansion of labor migration cooperation between the two nations.

Besides, the sides also pointed out an urgency of discussion of cooperation on vocational and technical training of labor migrants and training of Tajik citizens at Belarusian educational facilities.

Poluden and Devonayev also met with employers dealing with recruiting manpower for Belarus.
