KHUJAND, January 4, 2009, Asia-Plus  – Coal-mining enterprises in northern Tajikistan have increased volume of coal production.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Sughd energy and industries directorate head Sodiq Rustamov said that local coal-mining enterprises, including Angisht in Isfara, Mughiyon in Panjakent, Fon-Yaghnob and Anzob in Ayni, as well as Koni Angisht Ghuzn in Kuhistoni Mastchoh, produced totaling 62,700 tons of coals last year.

Compared to 2006 the index of the production of coals in the Sughd province in 2008 amounted to 125 percent, Rustamov said.
