DUSHANBE, September 5, 2011, Asia-Plus  — China’s Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG) has presented the Innovation of the Year Ward Award to the branch of Innovative Road Solutions (IRS) in Tajikistan, Ms. Fotima Niyozmamadova, director of IRS’s branch in Tajikistan said.

The award ceremony took place at the Maykhoura tool station in Varzob district, the 62nd kilometer of the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway on September 4.

Chong I (phonetically spelled), the XCMG regional manager, noted that that XCMG had observed the IRS activities during year and considered it the best in terms of promotion of innovative solutions.

Besides, presentation of new special machines, delivered to Tajikistan for IRS from China, took place on sidelines of the award ceremony.

Abdulmajid Sharifov, technical director of IRS’s branch in Tajikistan, says they have purchased four graders, five dump trucks, two loaders, one company car, four multifunctional vehicles and one trailer for a total amount of more than 1.2 million U.S. dollars.

According to Sharifov, 16,000-20,000 somoni are needed per year for maintenance of one kilometer of road.

We will recall that the Innovative Road Solutions (IRS) company was permitted to operate the toll on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway.  A 354-kilometer toll road from Dushanbe to Chanak links Tajikistan”s capital with Uzbekistan through the northern province of Sughd.

The highway was upgraded by Chinese companies and paid for with a $280 million loan from China.  The Tajik government decided that in order to repay the loan to China, a toll would be collected for using the road starting on April 1, 2010.

Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd.(XCMG) was founded in March 1989.  On its website, XCMG is described as China’s largest developing, manufacturing, and export concern for construction machinery.  Operating under a national 863/CIMS engineering project, it is also currently one of key 520 enterprises in China and has been chosen as one of the premier groups of the selected 120 National Enterprises in all of China.   XCMG has established a technological development system led by its national classified TC through which a larger number of high tech, high value added products have been initiated continually.  The primary products and basic components are as follows: serious hydraulic cranes, road compaction and surfacing machinery, earth moving and loading machinery, concrete equipment, aerial fire fighting trucks, special purpose vehicles, special chassis for construction equipment, slewing ring bearing, hydraulic components, cabins, diesel engines, gear box, gear pumps etc.  60% of them have positioned the leading place domestically while 10% have reached the present world advanced level.
