Tajprombank takes measures to return loans provided to cotton farmers in Hamadoni

KULOB, December 15, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Farming units Khatlon’s Hamadoni district have repaid only 1.92 percent of loans received from Tajprombank for cotton-harvesting campaign, according to Yoqubjon Sabourov, the head of Tajprombank’s branch in Kulob. 

He noted that the bank had provided totaling 3,002,455 somoni in loans to different districts in Khatlon this year.  Of this amount, 1,655,136 somoni have been provided to the cotton-growing farms in Hamadoni. 

“We are taking measures to return our money,” said Sabourov, “Our specialists are currently making inventory of property of debtors that was mortgaged for getting loan.”  

In the meantime, farming units in Vose, Farkhor and Kulob districts are successfully repaying their loans to Tajprombank.  “They have already repaid more than 50 percent of loans,” Sabourov said.
